Fairy Godmothers

It was great to see my husband’s 3 aunts this past weekend. They came down for a visit with family in this parts of the East. They came from different places in the midwest and along with them are their good-natured humor and mirth. They were all very kind and gentle people, very down-to-earth and just the type of people that you want to be your fairy godmother. I feel lighthearted to be engulfed in each of their embraces. It feels like coming home to someone who really missess you for a long time. I miss a lot of people in my life and it’s not always that you get the time to see them or as often so I really treasured these moments. I do hope that they enjoyed their visit with us and hopefully we can return the same. I had visited with them before when Bob and I went with my father-in-law and a few more family members way back. We had a lot of fun and it was great to see the other side of Bob’s relatives. We are hoping to be able to see them again sometimes soon….

Banana Bread

The cold season is coming if not here already. The mornings are chilly and the cars have frosted windows. It’s dark early and what better thing to do than warm the house with baking. It’s a great activity when it’s cold and venturing outside is not really that appetizing anymore. I usually buy bananas to put in my fruit basket at home but more often than not, they end up not being eaten. Well, the best thing to do in order to save them is to make them into something else. Above is the picture of my delectable and delicious (as my prime taster, Bob, would say) banana bread.  My son helps baked it until golden brown and smiling. I think it must be good because it did not last long and before I know it, my husband is asking for more.

The months just flew by my calendar like the leaves turning colors and falling in Autumn. October is here, my favorite season is finally upon us and I can’t wait to see the valleys, mountains and hills becomes awashed with a riot of colors in reds, golds, yellows and oranges.Time for ghosts and goblins, witch’s hat and candy corns, pumpkins and scarecrows.I can’t wait for the smell of baked apple pies wafting through the air.My favorite would be to put vanilla ice cream on top of a freshly baked pie, yum! There’s also the Thanksgiving celebration to look forward to….and of course, though I may try to forget all about it ———–I will also be getting a little bit older this Fall. I have nothing against getting older but I’d much prefer not to think about it.Still, it’s another reason to be grateful and thankful this year. Everyday is a wonderful opportunity to do things that you have dreamed or aspired for. And this year, I am hoping for more of that opportunity and chances so I can excel and be better in mind, body and soul.
Plans for leaf-peeping roadtrip is in order and we have decided to venture up north in the French Canadian, that is, Montreal. This will be a first for me so I am very excited for this trip. Time is limited so it’s going to be a short weekend roadtrip but all the same, I am going to make the most of it. Life is very busy for me this Fall; been trying to do the balancing act with work, school, family and the lust to getaway. So far I am still standing on my feet so I must be doing okay. But then again, thanks to a bunch of people who cares , I am able to do what I needed done. The only thing that is a really high commodity these days, at least for me anyway, is sleeping. I seem to be losing more than gaining any. Speaking of sleep, I suppose I should be sleeping by now so I will bid you good night and I hope you have a wonderful day ahead.

Hello out there…

@ Nubble Light, Maine

I feel like I have left the building. I am so busy with school and maintaining a balance with family, work and school. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed and just want to hide from all my crazy schedule these days. I do like to challenge myself but now I think I am pushing it. Thank God He’s there, Thank Goodness, for my husband’s support and encouragement, and thank goodness Gracious to a friend who lend me a few hours of her time each night that I need her to watch my son. Everyone really need a support system to exist and if not for these great people around me….I don’t think I will be doing these things right now with my life and the direction that it’s going.

Time

Dsc06738

I don’t know if anyone can see my dog Daisy running down the path. That’s the setting sun peeking through the curtain of trees not a UFO…^_^ This picture kind of remind me of Pink Floyd’s song entitled "TIME"…It seemed everyone of us is just like my dog here in this picture…running, rushing , chasing  and always out of time because the sun is setting and we’re never done…Anyways, here’s the lyrics to the video above….Ponder on it and hopefully the next we rush, run and give chase we ‘ll take a moment to enjoy ourselves along the way….

TIME

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an off hand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but its sinking
And racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in the relative way, but youre older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the english way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought Id something more to say

Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
And when I come home cold and tired
Its good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells.

33 State of Mind

First Impressions

Me, Mike and Shawna
I look so tired…I had to wake up early because I had to work and then run home to change. I am just looking to enjoy myself with my friend Amanda and her co-workers. I am going to miss all the GNO in the next few months because of priority changes. But this particular night has been a whole lot of fun. Nope, not looking for eye candies, Just having fun!

Amanda, Mike and Shawna….
Pause for a pose, having fun dancing and just enjoying the whole night.

The Lounge
Relax…..see and be seen, dance with a drink or with a partner. My first time here and I wasn’t disappointed. The company is great and the whole place spells laid-back, sexy sophistication.

Night out with Amanda and Shawna …..
I am working this whole weekend but a girl’s gotta have a fun too! After having dinner al fresco in Ciao Bella, we end up in this well-hidden, sexy ambiance of a place.

Girls Night Out

098

The reason for our GNO in Boston is to celebrate Rita and Arlene’s birthday. It’s fun to have summer birthdays because there’s plenty of things to do in the summertime that are very comfortable, enjoyable and less constricting. 00

We’ve been wanting to paint the town red but there wasn’t any really good enough reason to do it or maybe we just can’t synchronize our busy schedules or maybe yet, we have not found our DD!

Usall

We’ll we got lucky this time! Rita’s hubby(Tom) chauffeured us to town along with Arlene’s hubby(Mario)….so off we went! We were stuck in Friday night traffic and the pouring rain did not help matters at hand. We need to do something while we’re in the car so we took some pictures …

Eventually we reached Boston and we settled down in The Hard Rock Cafe for dinner plus a rather amateur stand up comedy show… but it was free. The dinner was good and the drinks as well. We finished up with dinner and we venture outside in the rain, we hop and skip our way under building canopies and open bars. Through it all we had a rather unexpected happening that I’d rather not mention in detail but needless to say after that happening we kind of sober up.

We need to settle some nerves, so what better way to shake it back than to go dancing. It was crowded but we pushed our way inside and found a little space to kick up our dancing feet. Check out some our pics below:

We did not get back to Rita’s house till about 230 AM Saturday. We were hungry so Rita was so kind enough to cooked us some breakfast. We had garlic fried rice, eggs and sausage plus coffee to wake us up so we can drive back home. I did not get home till about 330 AM and I realized that I was up from 4 AM Friday to 330 AM Saturday, oh boy! And I have to attend a family member’s graduation party at around 1pm Saturday.Plus, we had a kids pool party to go on Sunday @ 2pm. My! what a weekend! It’s over already???

Beach Day

123

So glad that the weather cooperated with my beach day plans this weekend. The whole week has been long and busy at work I couldn’t wait for Saturday. I was able to have a sigh of relief when Friday finally ended and I was able to wrap up some deadlines for the week.

My schedule at home has been so crazy lately that instead of sleeping in on a Saturday, I woke up instead @ 4 am. So what a girl gotta do? I wasn’t going to cook food to bring to the beach but seeing that I woke so early , might as well use the time to prep and cook some noodle stir fry. It reminds me of waaaaaay back home in the Philippines when my family used to prepare for a beach day. We had all kinds of food and drinks (of course, here in the US, there’s really no alcoholic beverage allowed in public beaches). Okay, I am not really a great cook but I thought I did a good job with my noodles, I just hoped that the friends would like it.^_^

Well, this turned out be a better day after all the rain and clouds all week. There were clouds Saturday but the sun still came out of it and shine the beach with considerable heat. Salisbury Beach has been known to be a great summer destination in Massachusetts. It had some seedy reputation(years ago) but people still come and enjoy the beach atmosphere. Summer is so short here that we take what we can and enjoy the season before the cold weather sets in. I am just so glad too that a few of my girlfriends, Rita, Ivy and Arlene with their hubbies were able to make it and join me. The kids had a lot of fun and the big kids as well. Although, Tom and Mario opted out from going in the water. They were just chillin’—literally and figuratively.^_^It was such fun to have them all and we had some really great killer fried doughs. It’s so huge , I’ve never seen such thing.

The water here is almost all the time cold to swim in because it’s the Atlantic Ocean. But this particular day the water seemed warm enough to catch some waves. We sequestered the kid’s boogie boards from time to time and ride the surfs. I had so much fun that I am feeling it right now. I have sore muscles that I did not know I have. It’s quite amazing that in my years of living here, this is truly the first time that I really enjoyed the ocean waters. My Bob was very surprised as well and couldn’t believe I spent most of the whole day in the water. He was quite amused with my tan lines when I took off my swimsuit. Come to think of it, I am tanned from birth already, now I’ve become dark brown. I love it!

‘Twas a lot of fun! I’m definitely looking forward to the next time!

Art Imitating Life

Dsc05564

My son’s attempt to embody himself in everyway he can imagine. The picture of a kid growing up surrounded by technology, toys and gadgets to occupy himself(Still looking bored ). Our parents used to yell at us to go outside and play, don’t mess the house do the messes outside . Today is different, I can’t have my son playing outside in my yard without me watching even if the gate is closed. It’s too risky, God knows, who or what is lurking outside. It’s bad enough keeping them away from gaming chatrooms, how much more would be outside. What has become to our world?
